2nd Prize, Living City Design Challenge

Bellingham, WA

Open, international competition asking entrants to imagine a truly sustainable city of the future. Entry selected for 2nd Prize from over 85 submittals from design firms and students around the world.

Bellingham’s vacant, post-industrial waterfront is reimagined as a catalyst for positive change throughout the city. Once a center of timber extraction and paper production, the city instead produces clean energy, water, and food.

The latent potentialities of Bellingham suggest an alternative future integrating massive change within the existing historic framework of the city and its ethos of production. The city makes; the city lives.

With Andrew Brown, Ryan Drake, and Jonathan French.
